Epsom & St Helier select PSCAL to deliver PLICS & SLR

February 2010

Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust selects PSCAL to deliver Patient Level Costing & Service Line Reporting.

Currently Epsom & St Helier do not have a patient level system; this proves it difficult to justify the accuracy of costing information to managers and clinicians.

The Trust has made the decision to purchase the Cost Master PLC, SLAM and the Report Master systems and to go forward with an intermediate implementation plan, which takes in patient level information from the PAS system, Pharmacy, Pathology, Radiology Theatres and Wards. This patient level data will underpin the Service Line Reporting which will go out to the Trust managers and clinicians.

The objective of the project is to work with the Trust to streamline the monthly SLR process, underpinning the reports with robust patient level information.

At the end of the process the Trust will have a fully implemented patient level costing system (Cost Master PLC) which will link with the income monitoring system (SLAM).  These two systems will be fed into Report Master System which is a web based reporting tool allowing the monitor recommended SLR Reports to be produced along with many other features allowing drill down to patient level.
